Christmas Cranberry Sauce
A must-have condiment for your festive meal, made with Christmas Mead!
Ingredients
- 250g Fresh Cranberries
- Zest of 1 Medium sized Orange
- 100g Soft Brown Sugar
- 50ml Christmas Mead
- 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp Sumac
- 1/4 tsp Nutmeg

Prep your ingredients
- Wash your cranberries in a sieve and remove any stalk bits
- Measure out your sugar and mead
- Zest your orange
Make the sauce
- Add cranberries, orange zest & spices to a pan on a medium heat stirring continuously for about 5 mins or until fragrant.
- Add the mead and allow the cranberries to soften into a jammy consistency.
- Add the sugar and stir for 5 mins until dissolved.
- Remove the pan off the heat and once cool add the sauce to a sterile jar, and store in a cool dry place for up to 2 months.
Serving suggestions & Optional Changes
- Serve glazed over pigs in blankets or in a roast turkey sandwich.
- Optional: Swap out the brown sugar for caster sugar for a sweeter sauce.
